Had the 1998 Carignan the other day. It had a wonderful nose and seemed richer and more balanced than what I remember of the '97. When I tasted the '97, which was some time back, I remember a flavor of something sticking out (maybe more cab? or just its stage of life, whatever). Didn't feel that way about the '98. There was some tannin at the end and I'll want to see how this one evolves. Wouldn't want to drink another right away (let it age some more), but really enjoyed it nonetheless, even with fish.
